The “Strengthening Community Response to PMTCT & SRH in Rural Communities in Enugu State” project aimed to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes through the training of Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) in 10 rural communities. This initiative was critical in addressing gaps in healthcare services, especially in maternal and neonatal child health (MNCH), Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, and Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH).
TBAs across 10 communities in Enugu State received specialized training, significantly enhancing their ability to provide quality maternal and neonatal healthcare.
The project contributed to a reduction in maternal and neonatal mortality rates by promoting safe delivery practices and effective PMTCT measures.
Raised awareness about sexual and reproductive health, leading to better-informed community members and improved health-seeking behaviors.

Training Workshops: Conducted intensive training sessions for 300 Traditional Birth Attendants on MNCH, PMTCT, and SRH. These workshops were designed to improve their competency and effectiveness in delivering essential healthcare services.
Community Engagement: Engaged with community leaders and stakeholders to ensure support and sustainability of the project initiatives.
Resource Distribution: Provided TBAs with necessary medical supplies and educational materials to aid in their practice and outreach efforts.
