Tracking Our Collective Impact

We measure success not just in numbers, but in the livelihoods transformed and communities strengthened.

Project Background

Education Sector Support Programme In Nigeria (ESSPIN) in collaboration with Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) assigned 39 schools to South Saharan in Aninri and Ezeagu. The intent was to establish and train the School Based Management Committee (SBMC) in these 39 schools. The idea for the training was to train 6 members of the SBMC from each school, two pupils, two teachers and two Community members who will step down the training to the rest of the members. The 39 schools were clustered into 9roups, each cluster was trained for two days. Dedicated officers facilitated the activity for 18 days to ensure the first hand impact.

Project Objective

To establish a sustainable knowledge-sharing system by equipping selected SBMC members with skills to cascade the training to other committee members and support improved school governance.
To strengthen the capacity of School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) to effectively participate in school planning, management, and decision-making.
To promote active participation of pupils, teachers, and community members in the management and development of schools.
