Teachers Training: Addressing the pedagogy gaps
SSDO organised a two day end of project meeting for all the schools involved in the Improved Learning Outcome Programme (ILOP). The project funded by TY Danjuma Foundation focused on improving the learning outcome of pupils in Enugu State. It provided in-service trainings to primary school teachers as well as strengthened the capacity of the School Based Management Committees (SBMCs) and Parents Teachers Associations (PTAs) on effective school management. The project was implemented in 30 schools in 6 selected local government areas of Enugu State (Enugu South, Enugu North, Aninri, Awgu, Nsukka, Igbo-Etiti); 90 teachers and 180 members of SBMCs and PTAs were trained.
The meeting was aimed at creating a learning and experience sharing platform for all the schools involved to shared their experiences over the year and explored how they addressed challenges encountered during the cause of the project. The meeting was attended by government representatives, SBMC members, Teachers, and Traditional Rulers.
