Girlforce: Unscripted, Unstoppable!
In recognition of adolescent girls’ empowerment and rights promotion, South Saharan Social Development Organisation in partnership with the Anambra State Library Board organized a one-day symposium to mark the International Day of the Girl Child, at which ten secondary schools in Anambra East Local Government Area were represented by selected female students. The event took place at Saint Augustine Secondary School, Umuoba Anam, Anambra East, Anambra State on Friday, October 11th, 2019 and featured addresses, health and career talks, presentations by the students, showcasing various talents which were judge and winners short listed for gift presentations. The ceremony was a huge success, making lasting memories for anyone who attended the event. There were a number of notable persons in attendance, representing the Library Board was the Director, Dr. Nkechi Udeze while South Saharan Social Development Organization was represented by Aneke Marian and Nkem Awachie, the Education and Good governance Program Officers, respectively. The event was anchored by the Education and Project Coordinator of DEVITEM, Mrs. Ngozi Osuchukwu. The 2nd runner ups for the 2019 Tecnovation Initiative of the Anambra State Government were also in attendance, they were recognized and congratulated.
