Background Information

South Saharan Social Development Organization (SSDO) since 2001 has grown in reputation, programme scope and staff strength. However, we have identified certain operational and institutional gaps in our capacity to effectively and efficiently deliver on our goals. Thus, we are undergoing numerous institutional reforms and strengthening to enable us reposition for future engagements. The actions to achieve our aims include organizational audit, trainings in strategic areas of programming, management and governance; development, review and update of internal policies and processes amongst others.

No 1. SSDO Strategy Review and Revision


- Conduct an organizational audit to identify strength, weaknesses, threats and opportunities.
- Identification of institutional strengthening priorities for investment in subsequent years.
- Review of the current strategic plan (2015 -2020)

No 2. Organizational Policies Review, Update and Development


- Development of Human Resources Manual, Admin Manual, Programme manual. 
- Review/update of financial manual, Conflict of Interest Policy, Gender Policy,                 Procurement Policy etc.

No 3. Board Governance and Management


- Review of Board TOR
- Development of Board Policy
- Training for Board Members on NGO management and oversight

No 4. Staff Capacity Building


- Staff and Board retreats
- Trainings in programme/project design, implementation, evaluation and program oversight.
- Training in financial development and management.
- Training on team building and behavioral change

No 5. Management Training


- Cooperate governance
- Human Resource

- Upgrade financial systems to include accounting software
- Train finance officers in the use of accounting software
- Advance financial management system

- Programme quality assurance and strengthening.
- M & E training of staff

- Development of communication strategy
- Training on data visualization- Story telling with Info-Graphics and on creating visibility 
- Procurement of modern information and communication technologies that will enable real-time communication both internal and external.

No 10. Consultant on Training of Primary School Teachers on Modern Teaching Strategies

- To train primary school teachers on modern teaching strategies.
-Development of a training plan and manual for the training.
- Carry out a 3-day training of the teachers on effective curriculum delivery in each of the 3 senatorial zones in Enugu state.
